I grew up a California child of the 60’s and 70’s - a time of war, counter-revolution, and Dr. Spock. A time of polyester, tube-tops, bell bottoms, big hair, and an unspoken belief that we were responsible for our own actions and our own destiny. My prized possession was a racing green Schwinn bicycle, with a metallic gold banana seat and “sissy bar.” A playing card held in place with a clothespin added the only “cool” special effects needed. I recently came across an old photo of myself seated proudly on that bike while drinking RC Cola, surrounded by at least half a dozen other kids also seated on their bikes and drinking RC Cola. I was 9 years old and sporting a pair of plaid polyester pants with a bright yellow polyester pullover shirt and short “buzz” cut blond hair.

   Before I could legally drive, my fellow teenage friends and I could walk the 6 or 7 miles to the beach. It was impossible to get lost as we only needed to follow the stream through a canyon. My parents would allow us to hike to the beach on a Friday afternoon and spend the weekend there no questions asked. We would arrive at the nearly deserted beach (Usually Will Rogers State Beach or Leo Carrillo Beach) and dig a huge pit in the soft sand. The pit would be at least 4 or 5 feet deep and we would place lit road flares around the outer perimeter of this pit for light. We would tell ghost stories, eat and sleep in this pit, which would shelter us from the cool Pacific night winds. At night we would go grunion fishing and play in the fairly common red and green phosphorescent tides caused by the billions of plankton concentrated along the shore. During the day we would body surf, swim, and explore the numerous tide pools. It was a terrific and fascinating way to spend ones childhood.

   Unfortunately, it would be a cold day in hell before I would ever allow my own teenage children to hike miles through rough country and spend their nights on the beach, or anywhere else for that matter. Not without parental supervision that is. When my children were only 4 and 5 years old I advised them of what to do if any of their play friends wanted to show them their “daddy’s gun.” When they were 5 and 6 I told them if they were ever in an area where a gunfight should suddenly occur they were to immediately drop to the ground and then crawl to cover. If that sounds a bit overly dramatic then you should know that of 7 homicides that occurred around our neighborhood that year, 3 had occurred within less than 2 blocks of our apartment. We were in the midst of gangland central and as a single parent with two small children it was the only thing I could afford at the time. And this wasn’t south-central Los Angeles, this was Reno, Nevada!

   What happened between the time I was growing up and the current climate in which our children are growing up? As a society we have allowed our government, both federal and state governments to regulate just about everything and everyone. Though smoking cigarettes are legal, more and more states and communities are banning this legal activity and now the Food and Drug Administration has control of all tobacco products and advertising. If we go to a state or federal park we are taxed and told to stay on clearly marked paths. Most vehicles are forbidden along with a laundry list of other activities. So what is the sense in going?

   A brand new Pontiac Firebird cost $2000 off the showroom floor in 1970. Today 2k would barely cover the cost of the tires and rims! That’s assuming that you could even buy a Pontiac Firebird in 2010, but now that the federal government owns GM, Pontiac is as dead as the dinosaur. As a society we have become more legislated, regulated, medicated, and “protected” than at any time in the two hundred plus years of our countries history. Yet we live with more fear, crime, and unhappiness than ever. Our kids grow up with the TV and increasingly violent console and computer games, but rarely actually play with other kids. Yet we wonder why obesity is such a problem with our nations youth? We are constantly warned that the next pandemic will kill millions of us. The experts tell us that this occurs every 90 years or so and we are due for the next one. Of course they forget to mention that antibiotics weren’t around during the last big pandemic of 1918. After 9/11 they tell us that now we must also fear the intentional use of weapons of mass destruction, Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical weapons, on mass civilian populations. This, despite the fact that for all the hundreds of millions, or billions we have spent cleaning up the few anthrax letters and seeking to prevent such future attacks; attacks mind you that only resulted in the deaths of an unfortunate handful of people, the government doesn’t tell us that actual mass casualties are a literal impossibility with the current technologies available.

   We are told that Global Warming will result in the potential deaths of millions and millions of people around the world. Those polar ice caps will melt and flood low lying areas along every coastline in the world! As though we wouldn’t have the sense to see the water slowly rising and move to higher ground and despite the utter lack of empirical scientific evidence to support the initial hypothesis to begin with.

   We are told that we should fear the use of all carbon based energy systems despite the fact that there is still an abundance of such resources, especially within the U.S. territories and the fact that such use is still the cheapest most efficient, and the fact that coal plants are more than 90 percent cleaner today than they were just 20 or 30 years ago. Instead these powers that be would have us cover vast swaths of land with solar panels and wind turbines that will only work as long as the sun and wind cooperate and that are incredibly expensive to build and maintain. They "forget" to tell us that these new technologies are decades away from being truly "viable options."

   We are told that the human race is killing our planet! Another absurd statement and one that I agree with George Carlin on, is that we may cause the extinction of the human species but we are certainly not going to be able to “kill” mother earth. She will continue on long after the human race is gone and to believe otherwise is the epitome of arrogance. Yet we have made great strides in better learning how to manage our negative impact on each other. It is simply a matter of priorities and simple common sense.

   Does anyone really believe that turning all of our vehicles into electric, i.e., battery operated, cars are the answer? What becomes of those millions and millions of highly corrosive batteries after they have reached their usefulness? Not that they will be of much usefulness with current technologies being what they are. The highly touted Chevy Volt is only expected to get about 40 miles before their batteries will be depleted and then its back to the good old carbon based fossil fuels for the Volt.   

   We were told by our elected officials that failure to immediately pass the TARP and Stimulus spending bills would lead our nation into utter chaos. So our politicians signed the bills without even reading them and here we are months later preparing to do the same with Cap-N-Trade and a national Health Care system. The only thing we can all really be certain of with either of these ridiculous legislations is that they are going to cost an already bankrupt nation trillions more in debt. All this despite the obvious fact that before any of the so called “stimulus” money is even being spent the economy seems to be taking care of itself. Does anyone really believe that spending your way out of enormous debt is really a solution?

Despite all this grief unfolding and yet to be felt, we American’s seem too numb or frightened to do anything about it. I simply can’t fathom that the generation I grew up with have become this wussified. The kids I knew were risk-takers and didn’t know the meaning of “no we can’t.” Yet they remain mute in the presence of our latest presidential slogan of “Yes we can!” I hope those kids, now “mature” adults who comprised my generation will remember what fun life used to be and dream of the fun it could be for our successive kid’s generations yet to come.

   Otherwise we may as well change our national slogan of “America, the land of the free,” to the more truthful reality of, “America, land of the living dead.” It just doesn't have the same ring to it, don't you think?

  Everywhere I turn all everyone seems to be debating is whether the “harsh” treatment of those soulless individuals who masquerade as human beings and take such great delight in the slaughter of thousands of innocents from 9/11, to the Bali, Madrid, and London tube bombings, to the Beslan School and Mumbai killings, and the many thousands of other related atrocities committed over the past 30 years or so; is torture or not.  

   This is a conversation that only a people living in relative comfort and security could actually argue over. Yes, there are a tiny percentage of people for whatever reason that can not bring themselves to take another human life under ANY circumstances but the vast majority of any society will not be so constrained. Maslow’s hierarchical theory says that no individual, let alone a society, can move to what most of us consider a mature and “civilized” society which is able to live in relative comfort and security; without first having our most basic needs taken care of. Food, shelter, security, and the warmth and love or companionship of other people around us and with whom we can interact, then and only then we start striving for personal enlightenment.

   Many Western Christian believers know the 10 Commandments and so know, “Thou shalt not kill.” But the reality is the original text from which these commandments were taken actually reads, “Thou shalt not murder.” The difference is enormous. It is not hard to see the truth of these concepts in those unfortunate societies around the world today, such as Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, and many others, where life has so little value.

   It is only within a strong, secure and “civilized” society that people can even think to argue over whether water boarding a vicious monster of a man who thinks nothing about killing thousands of defenseless people and who would love to inflict such death and suffering on millions more if he could, under a doctors supervision, and where the intent is to not cause serious injury or death to the person being water boarded; is “beneath” us as a moral, god fearing, and law abiding society is to severe or not severe enough.

   If the vast majority of the people comprising our society were being butchered, our children being targeted, raped, and murdered; if we had a dozen Beslan School massacres occurring on anything like a regular basis and a dozen more 9/11’s had occurred over the past 7 years, I don’t believe the majority of those on the right or the left, let alone the vast majority of those in the middle would have any problem with such a monster being forced to hold his breath for 40 seconds of water boarding if it would illicit information which would prevent further such incidents and deaths.

   If we except what the MSM and other like minded progressive wing-nuts would have us believe should be the definitive definition of what constitutes torture then we should release every prisoner and convict currently incarcerated within our penal system and make all warm and fuzzy with them upon their release. Well, you can try that while I will lock my doors and keep my family close and my guns closer. I have experience with the darker side of these human predators and the results of their depravity and violence. I know how quickly life can be taken from any of us or our loved ones. When a government uses “harsh” interrogatory treatments to elicit the truth from even harsher individuals and that interrogation is done with a genuine concern for the physical welfare of the predator being so interrogated to elicit time sensitive information which will save many more innocent lives then so be it.

   Every Western nation, including the U.S.A. has used far more brutal tactics in our past and isn’t it strange that our societies didn’t rise up and scream and holler for the rights of those being thus treated. Only a society that hasn’t had to worry about whether they will be butchered, raped, or robbed on a regular basis would even think to have this “debate.” If a person pulls a weapon on me, THEY have chosen to escalate the violence level and have severely limited my options of defending my self or the person of another.

   If a person pulls a weapon on me I must assume they mean to use it and my response will be drastically adjusted accordingly. The big difference in my response will be training, experience, and the all important mental preparation for just such an event BEFORE such an incident occurs. I am not going to have a quick mental debate with myself about whether or not I will be able to, or should I take another human life. I have already prepared myself for that eventuality ahead of time and if such a life or death threat should confront me then I will not waste that valuable second or two making up my mind, but rather, taking direct and swift action which will drastically increase my chances of surviving the imminent threat.

   I have come very close to having to do that very thing at least a dozen times and thankfully I never had to do it. The point is, if and when that time does come, and I am forced to take another humans life I am mentally prepared before the incident occurs and will be much better prepared to cope with the aftermath of such an action. After all, what is the sense of surviving a deadly force encounter where my only option was to live or die if I spend the rest of my life mentally beating myself up for using the only option that my attacker left me with?

   Many of the decisions of our past presidents made under wartime circumstances or not, have been very tough, no doubt about it. The decision to drop two nuclear bombs on civilian populations would have certainly been among the top of that list, but President Truman made that decision and I for one, believe it saved many more lives than it erased. Winston Churchill chose to allow Nazi bombers bomb his fellow citizens rather than expose the fact that the Allies had broken the German code years earlier was another tough decision, and one which I don’t agree with but the point is these men always tried to do what they thought was best for their people in the long run. Sometimes they made the right decision and sometimes they didn’t, but they were always driven by conscience and a moral sense of what was best, not necessarily what they thought was best for them personally.  

   Forcing an occasional predator with time sensitive information to hold his breath for 40 seconds while water is poured over his face certainly doesn’t strike me as something that should be “beneath” us; especially if that predator’s knowledge which can not be obtained through lesser measures, will save the life of even one more innocent. But hey, that’s just me.  

  If you haven’t already heard then you soon will about the European Unions own “bailout plan.” The plan is as simple as it is predictable. Simply ask President Obama to give a trillion or so American taxpayer dollars to those great American bashing, spoiled “allies” like France, Germany, Spain, and England; and for good measure let’s throw another trillion or so at the world’s poorest countries as well. It isn’t enough that we have had to listen to these governments bashing our own democratically elected government for the past eight years. It isn’t enough that we have to pay them for the privilege of building, funding, staffing, and maintaining military bases in their countries and whose primary reason for existence is to defend these same American bashing nations from Russian military attacks. Now that the great European love-fest is coming to a financially premature end, what better way to keep the party going than on those evil and filthy rich Americans backs? Backs like yours and mine.

    The EU was created for two purposes. One, to eliminate the sense of nationalism among the independent European nations. If British, French, and German nationals would just quit thinking of themselves in those nationalistic terms then the idea of warfare between the European nations will prevent any future hostilities as were seen during WWI and WWII. Secondly, the EU was supposed to become a dominant superpower that would rival and hopefully even surpass the great heathen Americans.

   I must admit to a fondness for the people of Great Britain as they are one of the few nations that have stood beside the U.S. in many a tough spot in our shared history but I fear they will be such an ally much less in our future. As for the prissy French and the taciturn Germans, their history has been more in keeping with other anti-American countries and that is a simple fact. The French have traditionally voted against the U.S. on more U.N. initiatives than they have been in agreement. Does anyone remember which country was wantonly helping the ruthless dictator Saddam Hussein in building his nuclear reactor in Iraq in the 1980’s? The same nation which just happened to be the willing world bank for Hussein’s Iraq that was somewhat embarrassingly brought into the light after his ouster? I am sure that you have already guessed it to be France and of course you are right.

   Which nation member of the EU is currently the largest trading partner with Iran? The same Iran who has been under years of UN and U.S. sanctions. The same country which only grudgingly supplies a few soldiers to the war in Afghanistan but refuses to let them actual seek out and kill bad guys? Yep, our good allies the Germans. The old saying, “with friends like these you don’t need enemies” is certainly appropriate here. I have lived and travelled in these countries and know first hand the deep resentment, bordering on open hatred, exhibited by the average French citizen towards Americans. The Germans are a tough hardy breed but all to willing to be followers and followers without any strong moral compass at that. Were you aware that we continue to pay these countries for the privilege of maintaining the vast cemeteries that mark the final resting place of thousands of our brave American soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines that died fighting two world wars? Yep, defending the right to live as free men and women in France and ending the German’s death wish that had precipitated both world wars has earned us the right to pay for the land to bury our dead in. That and a couple of Euro’s will buy you a cup of coffee. So much for gratitude.  

   Now these countries who are allies in name only are expecting our new socialist leaning President, a man bereft of his own moral compass, to once again bail them out of a financial meltdown which they themselves are unwilling to take seriously. Let the good times roll. It would be very belligerent of America to refuse to give these EU nations vast sums of money that America no longer has, to ensure that those EU citizens can continue to party on. Thirty two hour work weeks, jobs guaranteed for life, protectionist trade policies (which they throw a tantrum over at the slightest hint that America would even think of any such reciprocal treatment), seven weeks of guaranteed vacation time, free medical care, free college schooling, and on and on. These EU government leaders understand the potential upheaval of their populations if they are suddenly cut off from their government welfare teats. Why the screams of outrage alone would be heard around the world and the dire events would prove disastrous for the ruling party élites in each of these countries. The specter of public lynching's could once again become fashionable.

   Once American politicians bought into the concept of “plugging” in to the worldwide community and took our nations wealth off the gold standard it was only a matter of time before this economic meltdown would become a reality. Economists are now saying that this current economic meltdown may well last until the end of 2010 and even then may never rebound to the days of old. If ever there was a time that America needs to put America’s interest first, this is that time. I personally believe it may well be the last such opportunity for our nation to do so. I hope for my children’s sake that I am wrong.

    Does anyone else feel as though they are living in two separate but parallel worlds? Like Popeye used to say, “I know what I know!” A recent article by a well respected blogger who conducted a non-scientific personal poll of one hundred people who were asked if they knew what Sharia Law was. Only seven people, seven out of one hundred, had a clue. More than seven years after 9/11 only seven Americans have bothered to learn anything about the religion of those who savaged our nation and our defenseless citizens?             

   Pearl Harbor was famously declared a “day that shall live in infamy” by then President Franklin D. Roosevelt and yet that was one nations military attacking our nations military. That day of infamy resulted in about 2,350 persons killed; all but 68 of them were military. Yet, on 9/11 we lost about 3,000 citizens, the vast majority of which were neither armed nor part of any military or police organizations. In other words these were unarmed, unsuspecting men, women, and children who could never (except in the twisted “religion of peace” known as Islam) be considered any real threat to anyone.

   As despicable as Pearl Harbor certainly was (it should be remembered that the Japanese government had attempted to deliver a formal declaration of war just before the attack) the reality was that the element of surprise, especially by a smaller, weaker opponent has often played a significant part in many wars over the past several millennium. 9/11 was vastly different. Does anyone know why? I sometimes feel that if I were to undertake my own poll on this matter that it would certainly not be surprising to find that only about seven out of every hundred Americans would understand, let alone know, the significance between an important event such as Pearl Harbor, and the tragedy that was 9/11.

   President Ronald Reagan, like so many Republican presidents during the past fifty years or more, was once asked a silly question by a silly liberal reporter as to whether or not he had a “plan” for dealing with the Soviet expansion of the times. In typical Reaganesque, his reply was both short and to the point when he replied, “We win. They lose.” Only a few years later he would be proven right despite the school house chuckles from the liberal journalists of his day.

   I recently saw a video of an interview of Allen Keyes, a conservative Republican who had run against Barak Obama for the congressional seat which Obama would eventually win. Keyes was speaking with another liberal reporter (is there any other kind left today?) and when Keyes indicated his serious doubt as to the status of Obama’s birthplace, an important consideration for anyone running for the highest elected office in the land, the reporter actually, and rudely, laughed out loud at Keyes suggestion that Obama may not meet the constitutional requirement of the office to which he has now been elected. I don’t remember the exact words but Keyes, in my humble opinion, stayed remarkably cool and seemed to challenge the rude reporter to explain to him how a bankrupt nation could print and borrow trillions of dollars it doesn’t have and can’t possibly pay back to buy itself out of bankruptcy without serious consequence to be paid in the not to distant future. I doubt the reporter ever lost the smirk on his face but the point is that I bet Mr. Keyes would understand exactly what I mean about two parallel worlds. It is as though I interact with other apparently normal human beings in my daily life, but when I start talking about the state of our great nation, they suddenly don’t seem to have been living in the same world that I have been.

   When the conversation turns to Obama’s latest “awesome” speech, or his next trillion dollars spending package, and I mention the Iranian nuclear threat, or the ridiculously obvious double standards applied to the tiny besieged state of Israel, all I get are blank stares or hostile comments. When others are griping about the unemployment rate and the cost of a college education and I ask them what they think about the assaults on our first and second amendment rights, they either walk away in disdain or insist that there “is never any reason to offend another human being or to take another humans life.” I can’t help but secretly hope that they meet some predatory criminal type to realize that they might want to seriously rethink their earlier statements. A dose of reality usually works wonders.

   Israel honestly and wrongly, in my opinion, tried to trade land for peace with its homicidal neighbors and completely withdrew from Gaza in 2005. Literally, within days they were being attacked by snipers, suicide bombers, mortars, and rockets that have continued to this day. Israel constructs a tall wall to protect its citizens, especially its children from the snipers; and they are internationally condemned for their inhuman “atrocities” and the violation of the Palestinians “human rights.” They erect check points to control the flow of whom and what enters and exits the Israeli-Gaza border, going to extraordinary lengths to accommodate the many external (and even internal) “human rights” groups. They built a hospital near the Israeli side of the border which was designed to aid Palestinians who are ill or injured, when the hospital was much more needed by Israel’s own citizens in the heavily bombed town of Sedrot, while Hamas is butchering its own citizens but of course Hamas is consistently portrayed as the victim.

   As long as the thousands of rockets and mortars were being launched into Israeli cities by the “peace loving” Palestinians, there was no serious international condemnation of Hamas. Israel finally took the long over due military action to protect its citizens and President Obama then promises another $900 million dollars to the poor victimized Palestinians and their elected terrorist government of Hamas. As if that wasn’t bad enough, President Obama quietly signs a presidential order paving the way for tens of thousands of radical Palestinians to immigrate to the United States! I believe many Israelis would understand the concept of parallel worlds and those who don’t are to shell shocked to think about much of anything.

   Our nation’s government has failed miserably to protect our borders from the millions of unknown and undocumented illegal aliens flooding into our nation along with, it must be assumed; Islamic terrorists bent on the further destruction and death in America and against Americans. Yet we watch as an American rancher is sued for the second time for trying to protect his ranch from the destruction and loss to his livestock, property, and sense of security for his family. Not because he considers himself some kind of Rambo personified but because his government has failed to protect him from the tens of thousands of illegal aliens that have crossed his land over the past fifteen years or so. Think the claim that “tens of thousands” is a bit much? The Border Patrol has confirmed that this lone rancher has captured and detained more than 12,000 illegal aliens which he has single handedly turned over to the Border Patrol. I bet he would understand the concept of parallel worlds.

   Or the case of the Dutch politician Geert Wilders, who has produced a short internet film called Fitna, and who is now charged with violating his countries hate speech laws for simply showing passages from the Islamic Quran, and then showing the violence perpetrated around the world by the so called “fundamentalists” of this joke religion. Shortly afterwards he was invited to Britain to show Fitna to some members of the British parliament but was subsequently banned by the British Home Secretary. Mr. Wilders was then detained at the British airport and unceremoniously placed on the next plane back to Holland several hours later. Mr. Wilders has not called for the death of all Muslims but simply asks that the same so called “hate speech” laws be applied equitably to the supremacist and hate filled passages of this so called “religion of peace” calling for the death of non-believers, those who try to leave the religion of Islam, the imposition of Sharia Law, and the subjugation of all non-Muslims under the barbaric rules of the 7^th century religion that is Islam.

   Mr. Wilders, far from being a racist (Muslims like Christians, or Buddhists, share a common belief in a religious ideology and are not of any particular “race”) or a hate-monger, is bravely trying to highlight the danger of allowing a free peoples most intrinsic right of free speech being subjected to the totalitarian beliefs of intolerant nations and so called religions. Islam after all literally means “submission.” He has worked under the constant threat of death and imprisonment so that the rest of the so called free-world will take notice and start to stand up to this most insidious assault on all freedom loving persons everywhere.

   I am quite certain that Mr. Wilders understands the concept of parallel worlds, don’t you?   

   We are now in the fifth week of President Obama’s leadership at the helm. He certainly has his hands full and the so called American main stream media has remained his most stalwart supporters but what has he achieved so far in keeping America safe from further terrorist attacks? We have all witnessed the MSM’s constant attacks of President Bush’s anti-terrorism efforts in everything from the detention of terrorists at Guantanamo, the water boarding and rendition polices, to the controversial voice interception of both American and non-American citizens within and without the continental United States. Despite what President Bush detractors will insist, often belligerently and extremely loudly, at the end of the day, one thing remains indisputable – no further Islamic terrorist events occurred within our nation since 9/11.

   Now it is a new administrations turn at the helm and I understand that with less than five weeks in office it may seem a bit presumptuous to be asking what our new president has done to keep us safe. Unless, of course, you haven’t been paying attention and/or only follow the MSM, thinking you are receiving anything like a fair and balanced report of world events or anything else for that matter. The mountain of evidence as to the direction our new president intends to take us in the so called “war on terror,” oops, that was the first casualty of this new administration. If you haven’t heard the term “war on terror” is history. The new administration still seems to be stumbling around a bit, trying to find a new phrase that projects the nuance intended by this new president, but the term “war on terror” was the first casualty.

   Presumptuously or not, I have put together a very short list of some of the high lights of the first weeks of President Obama’s reign.

a.       President Obama’s first formal interview was with al-Arabiya, during which the president strongly indicated the United States “new” direction and attitude towards those poor Muslims nations around the world. Our clueless new president showed his lack of knowledge of any recent history in this area, claiming that he hoped to resume those warm and fuzzy relations that Muslim nations used to enjoy with America as recently as 20 or 30 years ago. The list of America’s valiant efforts to assist Muslim nations around the world in places like Kosovo, Lebanon, Somalia, Palestinian refugees, etc., are only marred by the tragic loss of American lives in those same places. Let us not forget that it was during the end of 1979 that Iran attacked our embassy and held our citizens in an overt act of war against the U.S. for 444 days. This is arguably the beginning of the “modern” Islamic jihad against the non-Muslim world. Truly no good deed goes unpunished but that hasn’t stopped the U.S.A. from trying. Certainly there is a strong case to be made that appeasement of Muslim nations and groups such as al Qaeda, resulted in numerous and barbaric acts which culminated in 9/11.

b.      Only days after President Obama’s inauguration, an article by Suzanne Goldenberg in The Guardian on January 8 wrote, that the Obama administration was abandoning President Bush’s doctrine of non-negotiating with terror groups such as Hamas. Again, history has shown that negotiating with such nefarious organizations and persons is doomed to failure. Look at the Chamberlain – Hitler debacle. And since were on the subject of Hamas, have you heard that our clueless new president has signed an order allowing tens of thousands of Palestinians to come on over to America and bring their virulent hatred for all things Israeli and American to our own shores? Talk about generous! I certainly see lots of advantages to this plan don't you?   

c.       Again, only days after Obama takes over, the government of Pakistan releases the infamous Dr. A.Q. Khan from his “house arrest.” This is the same individual who assisted such friendly countries such as Iran, North Korea, and Libya with their nuclear weapons development. The Pakistani government then proceeded to demand more of America’s billions in aid, but brazenly insist that they shouldn’t be “accountable” for the hand out of our tax dollars, as had been the nominal case under Bush.   

d.      Then the great Muslim nation of Yemen announces its release of no less than 170 terrorists according to an AP report on February 8. Many of these terrorists had been held at the request and insistence of President Bush. 

e.       President Obama has ordered that Gitmo be closed within one year and that all ongoing terrorist trials are halted to allow for a “review” of the situation and how these butchers of innocent men, women and children can potentially be better served within our nations existing justice system. This completely fails to take into account that the current non-state (and even state sponsored) terrorism is a modern problem not envisioned by our founding fathers. It also fails to take into account that since the 1960’s liberal judges and U.S. lawmakers have created so many “new” rights for criminals that it is difficult enough to prosecute the common garden variety criminals, let alone the modern terrorist of today. Any attempt to move these Islamic terrorists into our main stream prison and criminal justice system completely ignores the history and experience of western European nations such as Great Briton. They have been doing this for years and are now dealing with a terrorist recruitment and breeding ground of more Islamic radical terrorists. Even our convicted and sentenced convicts have so many appeal rights that they are able to continue spending millions and millions of our taxpayer dollars, while tying up our already overburdened court dockets. Did you know that England no longer fly’s their nation’s flag over English prisons because it might offend the Muslim inmates? Did you know that they spent tens of millions of their taxpayer’s dollars to reconfigure many of the prisons toilets so that they face Mecca? Or that the correctional officers have admitted to being terrified of their Muslim inmates?

f.       President Obama and Hillary Clinton, the new Secretary of State, have both indicated that they want to open negotiations with Iran, Syria, Hamas, and the Muslim Brotherhood. They are planning to lift the sanctions on the terrorist state of Syria and President Obama’s team has been working closely with Muslim Brotherhood organizations long before he ever became the president. For those who are not aware the MB’s stated goal is, “their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” A former FBI agent (Shelbyville Times-Gazette article from Feb, 17) recently told a group of federal agents and employee’s that the MB is working through a network of Islamic organizations within the U.S. to implement Islamic Law. The former agent stated that our government agencies are reluctant to act against these Islamic organizations due to political correctness and the threats of lawsuits. The former agent is reported to have said, “If you are looking to DHS, the FBI and Congress to solve this … you’re going to be woefully disappointed.” Doesn’t that make you feel better?   

g.      While were on the subject of the FBI have you heard that this premier law enforcement agency is preparing to release its agents from counter-intelligence duties to the more recent spate of economic fraud crimes. Doesn’t it make you feel better that the Madoff’s and Stanford’s will get their comeuppance, but who’s watching over our nation and preventing another 9/11 attack?

h.      According to a World Tribune report from Feb, 9, Syria is openly building a chemical weapons facility but that doesn’t appear to be even a speed bump for our president’s determination to remove Syria from our sanctions list.

i.        Reports from earlier this month indicate that Obama’s team’s intentions of gutting our national defense spending requests are preceding full speed ahead. This despite the fact that America is involved in two war fronts, our own attempts to protect America, and the pressing need to replace old and destroyed military hardware. Bush’s intention to station anti-ballistic missiles in Poland, over the objections of our good friends the Russians, was designed to protect America from nuclear missile threats from Iran. Obama has questioned the technological success of this program and in his usual arrogant way, has all but scrapped a system that has been proving to be quite successful over the past couple of years. I have always believed that a good indicator of the righteousness of our path is if it pisses off the former soviet empire, then we are truly headed in the right direction.  

j.        The good old moderate Muslim nation of Malaysia freed 3 terrorists according to a Reuters report from Feb, 14. Despite the fact that one of the 3 was believed to be involved in a 2002 plot to crash an aircraft into a U.S. building. Obama’s response? Silence as usual.  

k.      The Christian Action Network just released a video and a 2006 Justice Department document that exposes that our government knows of 35 Islamic jihadists training camps within the U.S. but that they are intentionally ignoring them!

l.        Another great American and Democrat, John Kerry, while visiting the Israeli-Palestinian region, indicated that he had received a letter from Hamas to deliver to President Obama. Kerry was also credited with reportedly telling Hamas that he was willing to “listen and learn.” Learn what exactly? How to make bombs or cut off heads?   

m.    The Obama administration has reportedly agreed to back Pakistan’s deal with the Taliban to allow the imposition of Sharia Law in significant areas of Pakistan. In for the appeasement penny, in for the pound, I always say.

n.      A week after the new president made his comments about offering America’s open hand in friendship, Iran launched its first Earth satellite atop an ICBM. Iran also responded that IT wouldn’t speak to the new president until and unless President Obama apologized for all the suffering it had forced on the poor Iranian jihadist and lifted all sanctions. A fairly reasonable expectation given our new presidents track record thus far.

o.      Despite Russia’s recent spate of anti-American, anti-European, and generally, anti-free world provocations, President Obama’s response has been equally happy-go-lucky, offering to push the “reset button” with Russia. I am sure that has the Russian leaders feeling very warm and fuzzy. They must feel like a poker professional who hears a new rube sitting down at their table and admitting they don't really play much.  

   A Reuters report released today (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090216/ts_nm/us_counterterrorism) proves yet again the disgraceful and unbalanced reporting that has, in my humble opinion, become a signature norm. This article claims without challenge that Mary Robinson (U.N. Human Rights Commissioner from 1997 – 2002) and former Irish President says that the war on terror initiated by former President Bush has set human rights issues back around the world today. The article quickly went on to claim that Robinson said ‘that harsh U.S. detentions and interrogations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba gave a dangerous signal to other countries that could easily follow suit.’ The article further claimed that ‘Robinson said sweeping changes needed to take place to ensure Washington abandons its “war paradigm.”

   Did you get that America? After being repeatedly attacked by the extremely violent Islamic jihadists that culminated in the 3,000 dead on 9/11 WE Americans are to blame for the current state of affairs around the world today! Our crime? We fought back against the worldwide spread of the Islamic terrorism! Near the end of the article Robinson was quoted as saying, “There is a necessity now for leadership at the United Nations.” The implication being that the rogue United States has been allowed to run amuck in international politics, stirring up all this violence we currently see around the world today, and of course the implication that the U.N. is capable of doing anything positive about it.  

   Now, here is a bit of the sort of balancing that the Reuters news agency might try when reporting this sort of one-sided BS. Let’s start with the esteemed Ms. Robinson. According to DiscoverTheNetworks.com, Robinson was
“Architect of the 2001 anti-U.S. anti-Israel, U.N. World Conference Against Racism” and that after leaving the U.N. Robinson went on to become a Professor at Columbia University, which the same site claims, “Other prominent antagonists of Israel on the Columbia faculty include Rashid Khalidi and Joseph Massad, who has declared Israel illegitimate as a Jewish state. Columbia has "become a hotbed of Israel haters," notes the president of the Zionist Organization of America, Morton Klein.”

   Finally, the same source claims, “As the United Nations' high commissioner for human rights (a position she held from 1997-2002), Ms. Robinson rejected many American demands to remove anti-Israel language from final conference documents.”Under Mary Robinson's leadership, the Human Rights Commission as one-sided and extremist," said James Tisch, the chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. "In her tenure at the HRC, she lacked fairness in her approach to the Israeli/Palestinian issue.” Ok, so enough about the wicked witch of the West.

   What about the organization she served? An organization started by the United States shortly after WWII, which has its headquarters situated on prime real estate in Manhattan, New York, at no charge and which allows it dignitaries enormous release from prosecution for crimes which they may commit on U.S. soil against U.S. citizens. American taxpayers have also provided more than $300 billion in inflation-adjusted dollars (1980 through 2006) to this seriously dysfunctional world body, which seems to believe that its sole purpose in life is to vote against the very country that has essentially funded it from its inception and despite the fact that most of these U.N. member nations who are recipients of U.S. generosity still vote against the U.S. more often than not. I know that many Americans have a hard time understanding why our government tolerates this greedy, self-aggrandizing, dysfunctional den of rattlers. An organization that only has one proven track record, that of taking America’s hard earned dollars every chance they get. An organization that also just happens to comprise the Organization of Islamic Council, or OIC, a 57 nation Muslim block within the U.N. itself!

   But, what about the U.N. HRC itself? Well the current 2009 council is made up of such human rights stalwarts such as China, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, the Russian Federation, Jordan, Malaysia, and Uruguay, among a handful of others. The current president of the HRC is listed as Mr. Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi of Nigeria. So countries such as Russia, Cuba, China, and Saudi Arabia are the people to speak about human rights abuses to the U.S.A? Well, I for one will sleep better tonight knowing that these fine folks are at the helm. And there is no reason for us to worry about the near future as such luminary nations as Nicaragua, Egypt, Angola, Bolivia, Bosnia, and Qatar will be on the HRC council for 2010.

   It sure makes me proud that our hard earned tax-payer dollars are hard at work around the world, helping to make us all a little more civilized and hopefully safer. On the other hand I keep remembering the last words of Theo Van Gough, the liberal Danish artist who was murdered by a Muslim fanatic. As he lay seriously wounded and his assailant stood over him with a glistening knife with which his assailant would finish him off in broad daylight on a busy street in Amsterdam, Theo looked up at his unprovoked assailant and said, “Can’t we talk about this?” The answer should have been pretty clear by then don’t you think?

  According to a recent article from the Associated Press the suicide rate of our military personnel is at the highest rate (2008) since such records began to be tracked in 1980. The so called main-stream media picked up on this story and set out under the pretext of compassion for our service men and women but really used it to once again portray to our nations myopias that the often touted Hollywood view of our combat veterans being psychotic rapists and cold blooded killers appears to have been the real agenda. The MSM does this of course even as they continue to report that our veterans have a slightly higher unemployment rate than the “average” American.

   While I certainly agree that our veterans don’t receive the quality of care that they are most deserving of, I have only two words for this liberal view of our brave men and women who, as a whole, have done their best to serve our nation with honor and courage. After telling the reader in the first third of the article that the suicide rate of 20.2 per 100,000 military service members was the highest ever recorded and was higher than the national non-veteran population, the reader is required to read through to the bottom half of the article to see that the “Army says the civilian rate is more like 19.5 per 100,000 when adjusted.”

   In other words it took our nations fighting two foreign wars simultaneously over a period of more years than WWII lasted for our young men and women to reach the same suicide rate as the “general population” of non-veterans. And let’s not forget that we haven’t seen our military forced to serve in a combat zone for such prolonged periods since WWII. Nor should we forget that during WWII our military personnel generally knew who the enemy was from the uniforms each wore. It has not been since the Vietnam War that our troops have had to deal with an enemy that does not wear a uniform, and an enemy that intentionally uses women and children as human shields. A enemy whose battle cry appears to be something along the lines of, “We love death more than you love life.”

   Think about that for just a moment. You are fighting for your country and understand that a possible consequence of serving your nation in a combat zone can cost you your limbs, brain damage, and even your death; but your adversary appears to have no qualms about causing the death of innocents, and who is willing and even eager to die in their “holy war” as this ensures them a special place in heaven with 72 doe eyed virgins that must submit to their every sexual fantasy. As an American warrior you understand the sacrifices that may be borne by you, as well as the legal perils of fighting for a country that believes in the sanctity of life, even as your enemy is held to no such obligations.

   If our troops take these enemy terrorists, for that is the definition of their real status let us make no mistake about that point, they will treat their wounds, feed them, clothe them, and the worst of these terrorists would be sent to Guantanamo Bay where they get video games, some of the best medical treatment in the world, the right to practice their barbaric religion, a very well stocked library, and their guards having to kow-tow to them. Despite what the liberal MSM, ACLU, Amnesty International, and other such groups would have us believe, compare our treatment of these savage butchers of all peoples with the treatment that our soldiers receive at the hands of our terrorist foes. Rape and true torture is only a couple of the dehumanizing and demeaning methods almost always used on the prisoners of our foes. Not water boarding some monster that has time sensitive information that may save many innocents lives in the very near future.

      I bet most Americans don’t know, because our MSM never told them, that the vast majority of our servicemen and women captured during the first Iraqi war were raped. That’s right, rape of the women was pretty much a given but they raped the men as well. Can you imagine a more despicable psychological assault than being gang raped, raped with whatever filthy implements they found close to hand, along with the physical pain and torture that almost always accompanies such violent acts; and that was from the uniformed military of Saddam Hussein’s military? Why do these terrorist Taliban, al Qaeda, L.E.T., Abu Sayyaf, Hamas, Hezbollah, and so many other seemingly disparate groups from almost every country in the world today have in common? Islam.

   Have we already forgotten Iran’s takeover of the American embassy in 1979 and the subsequent hostage ordeal of American citizens for 444 days? The bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon and the Khobar Tower in Saudi Arabia? The attempted slaughter of our forces in Somalia, and the literally hundreds of other such Islamic driven terrorist incidents. Instead of showing our self-avowed enemies some back bone we tucked our tails and ran, or attempted to “negotiate” with our enemies. What has that brought us so far? 9/11 that’s what. More death, more demands, and more appeasement than ever before! Ask the typical Israeli citizen what their appeasement has earned them so far.   

  Only after 9/11 did we get serious about this worldwide threat and fight back. In the process Iraq now has at least the chance of a freely elected government, and Afghanistan, though lagging behind Iraq, may still have a glimmer of hope. I personally don’t believe that either will be successful because in both cases a befuddled American policy allowed these countries constitutions to declare that no law may supersede Islamic law. On the other hand, al Qaeda was dealt a series of body blows that emasculated and denied this vile organization the follow on attacks it had hoped for. The only reason al Qaeda’s command and control survives to this day is the duplicity of other Muslim nations. Saudi Arabia’s massive financial support, Pakistan’s allowance of its country as a sanctuary area, even as they continue to accept billions of American dollars to “support” us in this “war on terror.” And let’s not forget the appeasement, if not active assistance, of the European Union, Russia, and China.

   Why do we see a resurgence of beheadings over the past decade? Because the most revered personage of all mankind (at least to Muslims) was and continues to be the Prophet Muhammad himself, and he was really, really big on beheadings, rape, torture, and pillage. Not that you will hear such things from either our government, our academic “intelligentsia,” and certainly not from our MSM. Yet even our homicidal enemies realized that the beheading and internet posting of those beheadings was actually hurting their cause. Until President Obama’s election that is.

   How did our nation respond after 9/11? On 9/12 President Bush went on the offensive against those terrorists responsible, but in almost the same breath, insisted on defending the very same religion that provoked 9/11 by telling all the listening world that Islam was indeed a “religion of peace,” despite all evidence to the contrary. Do I believe that all Muslims are my mortal enemy? Of course not, but I believe that the vile “religion” called Islam is the enemy of all freedom loving peoples anywhere. Islam is a 7^th century Arab-political-supremacist ideology of world domination wrapped within a 7^th century religion as a façade.  

   While our MSM continues praising President Obama’s “bipartisan” efforts at “reaching across the aisle” to his Republican foes, is it any coincidence that since he took over as President, beheadings have seen a sharp increase, Pakistan has released the infamous Dr. Khan, other Muslim countries are releasing known and suspected terrorists by the dozens,  Pakistan has caved to the Taliban’s fundamentalist demands for Sharia Law, and our own FBI is now planning on transferring agents from the counter-terrorism mission to the more mundane fraud investigations such as those perpetrated by the now infamous Madoff. Could it just possibly have anything to do with Obama’s blatant appeasement of Muslims worldwide?

   I personally have no doubt and I am deeply concerned about what our near future holds in store for our nation from the rapid expansion of this worldwide Islamic terrorism that comprises both overt and covert, as well as economic, arms to achieve their global domination and the forced return to the 7^th century Arabic lifestyle. 9/11 should have been sufficient to awaken the peoples of our great nation, if not the world, as to the greatest peril faced by all free peoples in many decades, but alas, we appear determined to spill more blood and tears to relearn what we should have already known. What a shame.

   As to the image our liberal brethren would have us believe about the many wonderful men and women who volunteer to go in harms way, to both protect and serve our great nation, don’t believe it for a moment. I currently serve in a management position that authorizes me to hire personnel for my department and I have no problem giving our recent combat veterans a job. In fact I have hired a number of these men and women and have generally found them to be excellent people and employees. I would like to think that others in similar positions are doing the same. It seems the very least we citizens who have benefitted from these heroes sacrifices should do. The very least.  

   It has only been about two weeks since Obama officially took the office of president, but already the sheen and paint on our newest president seems to be rapidly peeling away, and the American citizen is beginning to grow uneasy about what they are glimpsing underneath. This certainly shouldn’t be a surprise as the majority of Americans voted for Obama, the most secretive presidential candidate to ever run for this office, without a concern. A man who had been reported as the most liberal politician then in office, and even now, almost nothing is known about the man who is our new president, and the most powerful politician in the land; except what he has chosen to tell us. Neither the way he ran his presidential race, nor his many questionable ties and relationships with individuals or organizations, nor his utter lack of substantive political experience, prevented his being handed the keys to the white house.

   Many are only now beginning to blame the media and Oprah Winfrey, but the truth is far uglier. The American voters refused to even ask basic questions of a candidate who would be king, and the responsibility lies squarely with them. The time for questions should have been before we elected this man to his current position, not after the fact. Having said that, it is not to late to at least minimize the damage that he and his looney-toon co-conspirators, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Ted Kennedy, Frank Rangel, and all the rest, are preparing to unleash on an unsuspecting populace.

   In just his first two weeks in office President Obama has reinstated the abortions of others fetuses’ at the expense of the American taxpayer. He has ordered that the top CEO’s of companies which accept taxpayer funded bailouts must accept a salary cap of $500,000, an amount less than their vice-presidents and other corporate officers will be making. His first interview was to al-Arabia, in which he said that he intended to restore the “same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago.” At his first prayer service he seemed to reemphasize that America will be “good” under his watch and stop offending the poor misunderstood Muslims, which by the way have happily been butchering and terrorizing Americans (and the rest of the world for that matter) for at least the past 30 years.

   What has Obama received for all his love-fest overtures to the Muslim community? Pakistan has released the infamous Dr. Khan from his years of “house arrest.” Apparently Obama’s words have convinced them that they have nothing to fear from him. You may recall this is the same idiot that was happily selling the secrets on how to build your own nukes to any Muslim nation with an interest in such things. It should also be remembered that Dr. Khan was kept from any American investigators who desperately wanted to know what he had sold and to whom, not that that will prevent our government from sending tens of millions of our taxpayer dollars to the corrupt Pakistani government.

   Even Iran’s leadership has been quick to sense their new advantage in Obama as they wasted no time in demanding a formal apology for the atrocities committed against the Iranian people, as just one of the “pre-conditions” they would establish before any direct talks with the new American government.   

   Apparently he doesn’t remember or know that it was America that has unselfishly provided aid in money, food, medicine, and the blood of brave American men and women, in places like Somalia, Lebanon, Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Afghanistan, Iraq, the many Israeli-Palestinian conflicts, and the millions of poor Muslims fortunate enough to have survived the great Christmas Tsunami. Of course for the sake of brevity this is just the short list. This, despite the 9/12 speech of former President Bush, who took great pains to assure the world that our war was with the terrorists, and not with Muslim, their religion of Islam, or any specific Muslim nation. It is certainly true that we have made mistakes along the way but I defy you to provide another nation in the world that has provided the level of aid sent by America.

   In his first two weeks President Obama has also promised to veto any bill that contained a “protectionist” clause that would insist that only American made steel, labor, etc, be used in any “stimulus” proposal. This also happens to be the exact opposite of what presidential candidate Obama had promised. He has also over ruled Gen. David Petraeus (formerly known as Gen. Betray Us within certain liberal circles), and who also just happens to be the only man, who almost single-handedly turned the violence in Iraq around; to insist on pulling our troops out within 16 months, no matter what.

   President Obama and his many minions, such as Rahm Emanuel, have already indicated that they plan to seriously cut our military defense spending, despite the fact that we are in a war on two fronts. Obama’s team has already demanded that the DOD trim its budget by at least 10%. They have made it pretty clear that they have no need for the Strategic Missile Defense program, despite Iran’s very recent launch of its first ICBM capable missile, and have even dropped the term, “war on terror” so as not to offend the sensibilities of those poor Muslims, both near and far. Of course Obama also recently stated that finding and killing Osama bin Laden is no longer “essential.” Yet another complete reversal of what he stressed as candidate Obama.  

   Emanuel stated in a recent interview that, “We have about $300 billion in cost overruns from the DOD,” that’s $300 billion out of this years proposed $527 billion dollar budget! This, in spite of the fact, that much of our military hardware is seriously debilitated from years of combat operations. The Obama team has already indicated that they plan to scrap the F35 Joint Strike Fighter, the F/A22 Raptor fighter, a destroyer, and of course the Ballistic Missile Defense program.

   Those programs alone will save about $25 billion dollars but at what cost to our nations future security? $25 billion seems a pittance compared to the more than $100 billion dollars that the American taxpayer was forced to hand over to insurance giant AIG alone. It also seems to fly in the face of common sense when we know our vastly overstretched military needs billions just to replenish the equipment depleted during the past several years, but which would have the added benefit of almost instantly increasing good paying jobs to American’s desperately looking for one. Yet neither of the so called stimulus packages seems to have spent a dime in this vital sector.

   What of Obama’s highly touted “transparency” by his new “rules” for any senior government officials within his cabinet? Do the names, Governor Richardson (forced to withdraw over allegations of his involvement in a “pay to play” scheme), Tom Daschle (owed more than $140,000 in delinquent taxes), Hillary Clinton (who, along with her husband Bill, had refused for years, to release a list of Bills donors, until of course she wanted to be Secretary of State), Eric Holder (who had served under Janet Reno of Waco Texas, Elian Gonzales, and Marc Rich fame), Tim Geithner (oops, another delinquent taxpayer to the tune of $43,000), and Governor Blagojevich (another Illinois politician, need I say more) ring any bells? So apparently Obama’s strict new “rules” and complete “transparency” only applies when He says they apply.

   Let’s not forget the presidents signing of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which Phyllis Schlafly accurately wrote in her January 13, 2009 article, “would remove existing statutory caps and allow for unlimited money damages to be awarded, even without proof of discriminatory intent.” Or President Obama’s new fear mongering language over the importance of Republican members of Congress getting on board with his party’s bloated liberal spending frenzy currently known as his “stimulus” package. Has anyone else noted Obama’s proclivity to seem totally unaware of any contrary views from those of his own? When speaking about the alleged Global Warming issue, he insists that every credible scientist agrees in this being a well documented fact. When speaking of the Republican obstinacies to his so called stimulus package, Obama continues to insist that "every" expert and economist “agrees” with his view of the stimulus package. Does anyone other than me have a serious doubt about those statements? I think there are lots of doubters out there.

   Well America, this man currently has the power that “we” the people handed to him. We the people can take it back, unless of course this is the “Change we can believe in” that you not only expected but wanted. Either way it is time for Americans to take responsibility and actually put forth some effort in the governance of our nation.

   In case the average American citizen hasn’t noticed, there has been a growing and serious threat to America’s security. Hardly a month goes by that we don’t hear or read of yet another claim of police brutality. As a former law enforcement official and current security professional I am certainly aware of the stresses and dangers that our often outgunned and overly legislated law enforcement professionals deal with on a daily basis. Like any group comprised of nearly 800,000 people nation wide, there are the good, the bad and the ugly; but unlike most groups as large as the law enforcement community, there should be little doubt but that the vast majority are selfless servants and protectors of our society.

   They are human and we can rest assured that they will make mistakes but even those mistakes are very, very, rarely made from any negligent or criminal intent. Recently Dallas Police Officer Rene Villanueva shot and killed 31 year old Derrick Jones, an African-American. The local media reported that Jones, who was unarmed, 6’2” tall and 240 pounds had struck another vehicle with his Mercedes and then fled the scene. This literally occurred right in front of the police officer.

    Officer Villanueva tried to pull Jones’ vehicle over and after a brief chase during which two other African-American passengers in Jones’ vehicle bailed out of the still moving Mercedes, Jones then ran into a chain link fence. Officer Villanueva still alone at this point, exited his vehicle as Jones exits his and begins punching the much smaller officer. Officer Villanueva stated that he was struck 3 times before drawing his weapon and shooting Jones at very close range. According to the media report Jones died as a result of his wound.

   The news report went on to state that “community activists,” including one so called Reverend Jones had produced an “eyewitness” who claimed that he saw Officer Villanueva order Jones to “back away” and then shot Jones in cold blood. It should be mentioned that the good Reverend Jones was also African-American, as were a group of men which the news report indicated were also “community activists.” The news report (you can watch it yourself at this link, http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=135_1222783395), then showed the officers dash cam recording of the incident, stating that the Dallas Police Department had already shown the video to those “community activists” and Jones’ family. Despite the video evidence refuting the good reverends so called “eye witness” the “community activists” still insisted that the shooting was not justified and even suggested that the police had altered the video evidence.

   The reporter went on to state that Officer Villanueva was on investigative leave and it was only at the very end of the news report that the viewer is advised that an autopsy of Jones revealed the presence of PCP present in his system. What’s wrong with this picture? A young, healthy, 6’2”, 240 pound Jones, who had already shown a wanton disregard for the laws of his land and the welfare of the person whose car he had struck, or anyone else on the road that fateful night, and who had then physically attacked a lone police officer much smaller than himself, and who was under the influence of PCP; was the victim of police brutality?

   Since when do any of the actions of this man fall into the classification of “victim?” What of the victimization of the person whose car Jones struck? What of the victimization of Officer Villanueva? He was trying to do his job and it is extremely unlikely that he went to work that evening hoping to kill another human being. Taking another human beings life is never an easy decision and regardless of the investigations and any potential future criminal or civil trials results, Officer Villanueva will have to live with his decision for the rest of his life. He didn’t just shoot and kill some drugged up and violent criminal that evening. He killed someone’s son, brother, friend, and possibly even some children’s father.

   One of the uncomfortable realities of law enforcement that I suspect most young police recruits learn early on in their careers is that every person they arrest is some innocents loved one. The arrested will often lose their jobs which may lead to their inability to provide for their loved ones as well as themselves. I also suspect that every young police recruit also comes to the same conclusion that it is ultimately the criminal’s responsibility not to commit crimes and if they do it is the law enforcement officer’s job to arrest them and turn them over to the criminal justice system. Failure to do any differently by law enforcement would quickly lead to social disorder and chaos.

   Obviously this is only one of many incidents occurring around America on just about any given day. They don’t usually result in a loss of life but when they do the vast majority of persons killed by American law enforcement were certainly no “victims.” Yet it is the rare exception of police making a tragic mistake and using deadly force where it was patently unnecessary. When was the last time you had to engage in hand-to-hand combat with an opponent not only much bigger and younger than yourself, but one who also happened to be under the influence of PCP? So what if he is “unarmed”? When did our liberal politicians, judges, and “community activists” come to believe that the only time a person has the right to exercise our right to defend our loved ones or our own lives is when our attackers are armed with a knife or a gun? Deadly force is generally defined as any attack that a reasonable and prudent person would believe imminently constitutes a serious threat to their very life, or the life of another, from serious bodily injury or death. None of these laws state that “deadly force” can only be achieved through the use of a weapon, nor would it make sense that a person can only use a firearm to deliver deadly force to their attacker AFTER they have been seriously injured, maimed, or crippled.

   Try putting yourself in the officer’s shoes. You have a tazer, pepper spray, a night stick and a gun. You are alone, its dark, and you can’t count on any good citizens rushing to your aid. In fact you are aware that the odds are much better that other individuals like the 2 subjects that had already jumped out of Jones’ car just seconds before the final confrontation, are more likely to try to aid the suspect you are trying to arrest. And let’s not forget that this is not just a one time event, but that you have to be able to cope with incidents like this on a potentially common basis for the next 20 years or so. Let’s not forget that police officers are people too, and as such they tend to have families to support and children to help raise.

   Is it really so difficult to understand why law enforcement agencies are having an increasingly difficult time in attracting enough young people, let alone enough qualified young people, to the law enforcement career? Increasingly our younger generations have less and less respect for authority in general, let alone law enforcement officers in particular. So why would anyone want to take on the stress and dangers of a law enforcement career for crappy pay, long hours of tedious boredom followed by moments of sheer terror; all for a society increasingly disrespectful and distrustful of the best of each generation? The men and women who choose to serve their society for meager pay and even more meager thanks.

   We are often bombarded by the liberal Hollywood view of our law enforcement professionals. Denzel Washington received his first Academy Award for the movie Training Day. A movie in which he played a homicidal criminal masquerading as a cop. It is amazing how many Hollywood awards have been issued during its more recent history to whores and rogue cops. Think about it for a moment. Hollywood cops tend to fall into one of two categories. Either corrupt or the Dirty Harry types. Neither type is the norm but good luck convincing many young movie goers on that point.

   Now think on this for a moment. Every one of those 800,000 law enforcement officers gets tired of being their society’s whipping boys and girls. They get tired of the ridiculous claims of victimization by our nations predators. Become fed up with the ridiculous and frivolous law suits where they are frequently required to prove their innocence instead of the other way round. Lets just think for a moment of a time in our not to distant future where there wasn’t anyone stupid enough to take on the most thankless job in the country, that of the American law enforcement officer.

   Now let’s think on what our world would look like without these magnificent men and women serving our society on a daily basis. Its not to difficult to picture, as we have ample examples around the world today in far away places like Somalia, Sudan, Pakistan, and Afghanistan; and the not so distant, like Mexico.

   Of course none of us really think that will happen because instinctively we understand that just as there must be predators among us, there have always been the champions and defenders, or warriors, among us. God help us if ever the day should dawn when our society has driven off our warriors for some liberal, multicultural and politically correct make believe world where we have convinced ourselves that if we can all just make nice and get along, why the predators will just leave us alone. If we force our warriors out we will only be left with the predators who by their very definition can feel no compassion for their prey.   

   The thing that worries me, the thing that should worry us all, is that we may not be so far from that scenario as we might like to think. In just the past 2 years a number of law enforcement warriors have been charged, convicted, and sentenced to prison for crimes that were clearly anything but criminal. More often our warriors run afoul of the multicultural-politically correct crowd and find themselves sued and fired. More and more we see, what we are told, are just “average” American’s, supposedly people like you and me, not only failing to comply with the lawful orders of law enforcement, but actively assaulting them with both our words and our fists.

   I am not talking about persons caught red-handed in the commission of a felonious crime but people pulled over for driving without their seatbelts, or going 10 miles over the posted speed limit. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b8b_1209233457 will take you to a great example of exactly what I mean. If Americans think they have it tough right now with the economic melt down just try and imagine our society with out any honorable men and women, our warriors, who take on the responsibilities of an incredibly tough and vital job. The recent Oakland BART shooting death is another example of a horrible mistake made during but a second’s lack of attention.

   As other “community activists” and protestors engage in social unrest, destroy the property of innocents, and demand “justice” in a case that should be clearly one for the justice system to adjudicate, does anyone really believe that officer intentionally drew his firearm and shot a handcuffed and prone subject in the back in front of dozens of witnesses? That officer can clearly be seen reacting in shock and disbelief at what he had just done. His lack of focus and judgment on that day was certainly wrong. I personally don’t believe he realized he had drawn his duty sidearm, but that he was intending to draw and use his Taser. Nor do I believe that he should be convicted of anything less than manslaughter, but I certainly don’t believe that he had intended to draw his gun and kill that young man. I also believe that our law enforcement officials should be held to a higher standard than that of the rest of society.

   In the BART shooting death the officer had no reason to even draw his Taser as the subject was already handcuffed and there were other officers on scene to assist. This was another great example of cops trying to use a “less-lethal” technology like the Taser when they should have simply used their numbers and appropriate training to have gone hands on. I also believe that one of the reasons our police are so quick to go to these high-tech and “less lethal” tools is the constant and very real threat of law suits. Of course when they use these "less than lethal" tools like the taser they and the city/county/state they work for gets sued anyway. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

   When two young punks walked into the Columbine High School, the local police did what they were trained and disciplined to do. They set up a cordon, contained the situation and awaited the arrival of the SWAT team and hostage negotiators. The fact that these two young killers weren’t looking to talk, but wanted to run up the highest possible body count possible before taking their own lives, was an alien concept at that time. What could have possibly prevented police officers from storming the building after hearing the repeated screams for help and mercy, followed by gunshot after gunshot? The ridiculous and often frivolous law suits from the past two or three decades, was certainly a contributing factor. Our police became almost parallelized from the very threat of law suits and so they had attempted to refrain from going “hands on” and taking any “direct action,” even where such actions were not only called for but often the only way to resolve the situation.

   I remember going through the New Jersey State Police Academy’s “Advanced Officer Survival Course,” and being scolded by one of the instructors after a role playing scenario, because I had chosen to shoot the armed “bad guy” who was demanding that my partner and I “run away.” The armed “bad guy” had just robbed a bank and was holding the bank manager at gun point. We had already taken the “bad guys” accomplice into custody after a brief vehicle pursuit. The irate instructor told me that my partner and I should have given up our barricade position of cover (the drivers side of our patrol car) to walk backwards (while dragging the second handcuffed bad guy along with us) across nearly 100 yards of open and flat ground to the nearest alternative cover, a large tree.

   The bad guy had approached to within 25 feet or so of the patrol car while holding a handgun to the hostages head and insisting that we flee or he would shoot the hostage. I had a clear shot and I took it. I was duly chastised for taking “direct action” which may have resulted in the death of both the “bad guy” and the hostage and therefore a law suit against the department. The idea of exposing ourselves to this criminal’s demand, at great personal risk to ourselves, never seemed to enter the equation. What would our complying have accomplished if the “bad guy” had waited until we were well exposed, shot the hostage anyway and then used our own patrol car as cover while he opened up on us?

   At what point does the criminal become responsible for his own actions? Despite Hollywood’s portrayals, I don’t know of a single instance where someone was forced to commit a crime. That’s not to say that such an event may have never happened, but that it would be even more unlikely than winning the state lotto, or being struck by lightening inside your home. When a criminal sets out to commit a criminal act and then finds themselves confronted by police, it is the criminal who decides the end result of that encounter. When a person pulls a gun, knife, or any potential weapon on you, we have to understand that they have just thrown out any “rules” of conduct, and we must believe that they intend to use the weapon which they produced, and to act accordingly.

   I hope that the next time you see a police officer you would try giving them a friendly smile and wave. And if you happen to be pulled over some day for a simple traffic infraction or offense, I would hope you would try being very cooperative and even friendly to the officer. Keep your hands where they can see them at all times and let them know you understand that they are just doing their job in correcting your mistake, and even letting them know how much you appreciate all that they do for your community. What do you have to lose? Why, you might even just get off with a warning, but if you are sincere in your appreciation, it will certainly make that officers day, and what would be wrong with that?    

   So, by now you have no doubt seen or heard about the pair of size 10 shoes hurled at President Bush as he was addressing a room full of journalists while in Iraq. You have probably seen our own liberal media types such as Michael Ware, Jack Cafferty, and Rick Sanchez trying to “report” this incident without showing their own personal glee at the images of the President of the United States of America being assaulted in a war zone by an Arab Muslim journalist “dissing” the leader of this great country.

   While our own unprofessional and personally biased journalists are having a great deal of fun with this image and already calling the arrest of this Arab thug a violation of his “civil rights”, we should be asking a few questions of our own journalists. For example, if the purpose of journalists is to obtain facts and provide a factual report of events as they unfold in an unbiased manner, then how is what this thug did right? Journalists are not supposed to be the story and they are expected to treat people with at least a modicum of objective professionalism, if not respect. Regardless of the unethical behavior of the Ware’s, Cafferty’s, and Sanchez’s from an obviously biased profession of anti-American values and traditions, every American should be angered at the sight of an Arab Islamic thug being so rude to our President.

   Does anyone remember the not to distant past when an American soldier in Iraq used a Quran, the Islamic holy book, for target practice? President Bush personally apologized to the Iraqi Prime Minister and a top U.S. General personally kowtowed, kissed a Quran, and begged the forgiveness of an assortment of Islamic thugs. Here we have a Muslim Arab male doing the most disrespectful thing he could possibly do, at least in the backwoods area known as the Middle East, to the representative of the greatest nation on the face of the planet.

   And what is the reaction of the Muslim world? Once again thousands of Muslims in Iraq, and other Muslim countries, are protesting this Arab thug’s arrest, and once again our seditious and complicit MSM appear to be urging the same! Note the man was arrested for throwing his shoes while the Iraqi PM was standing next to President Bush, not for his assaulting President Bush. Nor, have I heard or read of any apology forthcoming from the Muslim world’s governments. Apparently this Muslim thug and supposed journalist is yet another “hero” to the Muslim world but why is no Muslim government condemning this behavior? But hey, how can we ask even that much of the Muslim countries when even our own journalists refuse to condemn this action?

   Now let’s just imagine that the shoes were on the other feet. What would the U.S. Government’s reaction have been if, oh say, a U.S. journalist or cameramen had thrown both his shoes at ANY Muslim government official during a news release? How many Muslims around the world would have rioted, plundered, raped, and murdered, regardless of the profuse apologies that we all know would have been offered by almost every level of the U.S. Government? And what would the reaction of our MSM “professionals” have been to that incident?

   That’s a rhetorical question by the way as I don’t believe there is any real doubt but that it would have been, at least in the eyes of the American MSM, President Bush’s fault as well. I just wish Ware would get his nose fixed, Sanchez would go live in Argentina and Cafferty would retire. I know its just a fantasy, but I can’t help myself.   

  I have always believed that the term “expert” is all too often overused in our society. During and after the most recent Mumbai Islamic jihadist attacks you could turn to every major American news agency in print, television or radio, and hear these so called “experts” all trying to explain why the attacks were conducted against so many unarmed people. They generally seemed to parrot each others basic premise that it was an effort to force India to agree to concessions on Kashmir. That it was done to further strain the recently improving relationship between Pakistan and India. That it was done to attack the increasing Indian economy.

   However, I did not hear even one of these “experts” state what should have been the two most obvious reasons. The first is that the so called “religion of peace” isn’t. That the Islamic terrorists were killing “kafirs” (non-Muslims) in accordance with this blatantly racist and supremacist socio-political-religious ideology wrapped within a so-called “religion” and it’s stated demands that there can only be one religion, and of course that religion is Islam. That non-Muslims are to be subjugated and forced to pay a special non-Muslim tax befitting their second class status, or killed, for their beloved prophet told them so. In fact I was hard pressed to find any MSM reporter willing to even refer to the Mumbai butchers as “Islamic” anything. They were simply “gunmen” or “terrorists” but very seldom “Islamic” terrorists.

   Secondly, these so called “experts” never mentioned that after numerous and recent suicide bombings and killings by these Islamic thugs in Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Nigeria, the Philippines, and the numerous prior bombings in India which killed even more innocents than the Mumbai massacre resulted in, the Islamic thugs only received brief (if any) mention in the Western media reports. The terrorists are using basic terrorist doctrines that require the complicity of the international media to aid in the spread of that terror. After the past 18 months of horrendous terror acts the Western media simply wasn’t doing its part.

   The Islamic cowards could kill unarmed men, women, and children, by the trainload, but as long as they were “just” Pilipino, or Pakistani’s, Indians, or other non-Western peoples, the terrorists simply were not getting the maximum bang for their buck. We Westerner’s barely took notice, if we took notice at all. This time the Islamic butchers were given implicit instructions to kill as many Westerners as possible. Of course the hated Jews are always at the top of the Islamic hit list as well. This time they were wildly successful in the butcher of only half-a-dozen Westerners. The MSM couldn’t report enough about the tragic events, especially when it looked like the number of dead and wounded Westerners would be much higher than turned out to be the reality.

   Yes, the “experts” may all be right in their stated opinions as far as they went, but the real lesson here is that attacks on Westerners, and particularly American and British citizens will once again be all the rage in future Islamic terrorism. Even if we Westerners haven’t yet figured this one out you can bet the Islamic butchers that brought us 9/11, the Madrid bombings and the 7/7 attacks have obviously come to their senses and will not commit the same mistakes again. Westerners are back on the menu in a big way but no one seems to have yet figured that little bit of knowledge out.

   I believe that in the very near future the Islamic followers of their thug-in-chief, the lifestyle and teachings of the Prophet Mohammad himself, will ensure that we all get the message soon.  

  

This is the second in a series which takes a closer look at the religion of Islam, often referred to (by the Muslims themselves of course) as the “Religion of Peace.” In the first part we looked at the treatment of women within this 7^th century religion. Today I want to explore a brief look at how the so called Religion of Peace looks at, and treats, other religions.

·         On November 25, 2008, that “moderate Muslim” country of Malaysia brought us this article, “The Islamic religious councils of seven Malaysian states and the Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association are turning to the federal court for the ban of the use of the word “Allah” in the weekly Catholic Herald.” A Christian newspaper. Even though the Malaysian constitution guarantees full religious freedom for all religions, it appears that an ordinance issued by the Muslim interior security ministry issued a 1986 law prohibiting the use of the word “Allah” (which simply means God) by non-Muslim publications. It is important to remember what with so many Muslims in predominantly non-Muslim countries such as ours, that despite those Religion of Peace practitioners’ insistences that the religion of Islam gets along with all other religions, it only does so as the superior and dominant religion.

·         This is further evidenced by the recent (Nov, 21, 08) report of a Muslim riot after a 14 year old boy, who didn’t know the segregationist status of “Dhimmi” behavior expected of non-Muslims resulted in a violent attack by a large mob of angry Religion of Peace adherents. “Muslim villagers attacked the homes and shops of Coptic Christians in Tayyiba (Egypt), a town with 35,000 Christians and 10,000 Muslims, after 14-year-old Copt Mina William failed to dismount his donkey as a (Muslim) funeral procession passed.” Don’t let the number of Christians vs. Muslims fool you as the total non-Muslim population of Egypt totals less than 15%. “Williams failure to dismount violated a local custom of showing respect, (this is another complete obfuscation, as any non-Muslim people’s, known as Dhimmis, are obviously required to show special reverence to any Muslims they may encounter) and members of the procession reportedly beat him before completing the procession.” Remember this was a 14 year old child who didn’t know any better. Of course the beating wasn’t considered punishment enough so after the funeral the Muslim population then used this opportunity to terrorize and steal from the local Christian population. Don’t expect any serious charges to be filed against any of the Muslim instigators of this atrocity by the Muslim government.

·         Every European and North American nation welcomes religious leaders from around the world to visit or live within their nations. How do the Religion of Peace adherents reciprocate this seemingly reasonable accommodation? Currently 22 Muslim nations don’t permit admittance of any non-Muslim religious leaders for either visits or residency. Two of those nations are Iraq and Afghanistan! The other Muslim nations impose very strict restrictions and laws making even formal visits by non-Muslim religious leaders very difficult. Isn’t it amazing how those Religion of Peace adherents only seem to insist (and often demand) that non-Muslims see them as such a fun-loving, tolerant, and peaceful religion in every non-Muslim country, but they don’t seem to worry about such trivialities when they are in charge of a country?

·         Every one of the Muslim ruled nations has some form of Sharia Law (Islamic Law) incorporated in part, or in it entirety, into their nations constitutional laws. Again, both Iraq and Afghanistan’s first order of business when they began drawing up their new national constitutions (after our soldiers demonstrated once again why they are the best soldiers in the world) was to install the concept that no law could supersede Sharia Law. How many billions of U.S. dollars, and gallons of U.S. blood, have we shed ourselves of, only to see the 7^th century religious/political/supremacist ideology passing itself as a religion, to reemerge yet again?

·         The recent violence in Iraq especially around the Mosul area, has been those Religion of Peace adherents we helped to “free,” killing and terrorizing the estimated 2 million Christian Iraqi’s, of which at least half that population has been forced to flee the country for their lives. This is of course, the actions of our “allies,” not that you will hear a word of this in our liberal (i.e., Christian hating) MSM.

·         In Thailand, the Philippines, India, China, and a very great many other nations around the world, come daily reports of rapes, murder, the desecration of churches and synagogues, vicious and unprovoked attacks with guns, machetes, knives, acid, and generally whatever else may be at hand; all committed by Muslim followers of the Religion of Peace. Still American’s don’t seem to have been able to put two and two together?

·         In that liberal bastion of Multiculturalism and Political Correctness, Minneapolis, Minnesota, we have seen the Muslim taxi drivers refuse to transport non-Muslim Americans  carrying pork products, alcohol, or even the blind’s sight assist dogs. Target cashiers have refused to ring up people trying to purchase other “haram” or Islamic forbidden items! This was also the scene of the infamous "flying imans" case. What’s the big deal, you may ask? Because the response has generally been the response of Dhimmis from those very same Muslim countries from whence these Religion of Peace adherents hail from. Target arranged to have other cashiers come and ring up those troublesome products, and prayer rooms and foot washing basins were installed at the Minneapolis airport, thereby ensuring an increasing demand for “special rights” by our Muslim citizens. I won’t even go into the security issues of actually creating areas within our airports for Muslims to loiter where no authority will dare question them for fear of being sued or even worse, being accused of being a racist “Islamaphobe.”

·         Have we already forgotten the brazen murder of Theo van Gough in Denmark? He made a short film questioning the so called Religion of Peace and was murdered in broad daylight. Or what of the tens of thousands of Muslims celebrating the 9/11 attacks? Or the 2005 “cartoon” riots that resulted in the deaths of more than 70 people?

·         Why is it ok for a Muslim to marry a non-Muslim woman but it is forbidden for a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man? Why is the so called Religion of Peace insisting on the death penalty for any Muslim to convert to another religion?

·         How can there be so little questioning of Saudi Arabia’s insistence that a mosque be built in Greece when it is against Saudi law for any church or synagogue to be built in their nation?

   Again, this is just a very brief look at the so called Religion of Peace’s insistence of special accommodations to their every demand even as they deny all non-Muslims the same tolerance or accommodations? Are American’s even aware that we have the fourth largest Muslim population in the world? How long will we continue to whistle in the dark and hope against hope that this will all just go away?
